Mark Wilson and Dale Gold - DM9 'Gusto!'
Sophisticated jazz for Queenstown

Mark Wilson and Dale Gold first met a few years ago. Dale had retired to Arrowtown from a life as principal double bassist of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and was looking for a new musical direction in jazz. A second jam session went so well that four standards from that session were recorded (see www.music.digitalgold.co.nz) and they realised that something very special had been unearthed. They had their first gig at Les Alpes French restaurant in January 2012, which was a complete sell-out evening, and went on to a succession of great gigs and concerts together.
Mark and Dale's hunger to learn new repertoire motivated them to higher levels of musical creativity, and a new recording project. Entitled 'Gusto!' the launch was part of the 2014 Queenstown Jazz Festival.
Mark and Dale are available for hire to play at intimate local events and dinners.
